ABOUT US
Situated on a natural bay estuary, Marin Montessori School offers a unique educational experience in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Enter any classroom and you will find a "living room" for children. All the furniture is child-sized, and there is a variety of activity as well as a great deal of movement. The room is inviting with flowers, plants, animals, and shelves of attractive, educational Montessori materials. You will find children of mixed ages pursuing their particular interests and settling down to work either individually or in a small group. Some children are working at tables, some on the floor, and others on the outside patios.
You may not notice the teacher immediately. She may be giving a lesson to an individual or a small group, or quietly sitting in a chair observing the children independently working. The classroom is clean, beautiful, and orderly and the children are engaged, comfortable, and content because this calm, orderly environment is especially designed to respect and protect their developmental needs.
Serving children 18 months to 15 years old, Marin Montessori School is a non-profit AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) accredited school. AMI is the recognized authority on Montessori education worldwide. It was established by Dr. Montessori in 1929 to maintain, propagate, and further her ideas and principles for the full development of the human being. Our AMI accreditation assures our families that the school and directresses perform according to the highest standards of Montessori Philosophy.
Marin Montessori School has been offering excellence in education for forty years. Our faculty, assistants, administration, board members, and families are dedicated to continued excellence into the future. As partners in your child’s education, we welcome your interest and encourage you to learn more about our unique program by perusing our website and by contacting us at (415) 924-5388 ext. 0 to arrange a school tour.
CURRICULUM
Reaching fullest potential comes from our carefully orchestrated Montessori program. As children progress through our program’s four levels -- Toddler, Primary, Elementary, and Junior High -- their growth is exponential. Each year concretely, logically, and consistently builds on lessons learned in previous years. Your child receives the full benefit of a Montessori education by completing all levels of our program.
